Aim: Future proofing one of the worlds oldest entertainment venues, to make sure Post-Covid & in it’s 121st year The Clapham Grand is kept open.
SAVE THE GRAND DEC 2021 ONWARDS
I can't believe I am updating this again, but in light of the rise in Omicron cases and the Governments dithering stance on any potential hospitality damaging curbs, and pitiful support in the meantime, our Crowdfunder has kindly found itself being shared again.
Ourselves, and many other venue's like ours, are once again in the middle of a whirlwind of cancelled or unattended shows, self enforced closure with no support (see our statement below) and an unknown future.
We thank you again for all you support in 2020 & 2021 and as much as the present is painful, we have every faith 2022 we will be welcoming you back here!

SAVE THE GRAND 2020 - 2021 SAVE JOBS & HELP US STAY OPEN POST COVID-19
We've been honoured to have generations of you partying with us since 1900, and we desperately want this to continue, but we need your help to save us.
Whilst we are closed we are paying £50k a month in rent, and when open we are operating at 75% of your capacity in terms of attendance with physical distancing in place.
Having saved The Grand for the foreseeable future, we now need to focus all our energy, passion and skill into opening and staying open, finding a way of building an operational, programable business model working inline with operating at a greatly reduced capacity due to physical distancing to prevent this from ending up in huge debt from just opening the doors, but also future proof the venue for another 120 years.
This isn’t just about surviving our enforced Covid closure, or about reopening for one show, one week or even a month. This is about future proofing one of the world oldest entertainment venues, to make sure in it’s 120th year The Clapham Grand is is made secure for audiences to enjoy shows for centuries to come.
We have survived two world wars, riots, multiple recessions, a decade of closure in the 80’s and even the last global flu-pandemic in 1918 and we now ask for your help to survive this one.
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see our Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
