At Refugee Kindness - North Wales, we support families from all over the world who have escaped persecution, death threats, loss of family members, unimaginable living conditions, abuse, slavery and, sadly, much more.
Many of our beneficiaries tell us how safe and welcome they feel in North Wales.
Last week, we had to advise them to stay inside, not go into the towns due to the risk of violence towards them from protesters. North Wales Police advised us to cancel our annual celebration. Many of those we support were left bewildered and upset, some struggling with return of symptoms of historic trauma.
It is a minor issue in comparison with the struggles of our beneficiaries. However, we rely on donations to continue to do our work in offering friendship and facilitating the redistribution of household items. In the loss of the celebration, we lost our annual fundraising event. We have, therefore moved it online. Please support us if you can.
