Simon Deverell
Founder & Co-CEO
Simon leads the platform and creative teams after two decades of disruptive digital work. He has led significant campaigns for Channel 4's Big Brother and River Cottage plus campaigns including BAFTA winning Hugh's Fish Fight.
Joel Matthews
Finance Director
Joel is a qualified financial accountant and excels in aiding high-growth businesses. Recognised in the "30 under 30" list in 2022, he kickstarted his career at ZPG Plc, known for brands like Zoopla and Uswitch.
Maria Sharman
People & Places Manager
Maria leads our people operations, with particular focus on employee engagement, talent, and development. With a BSc in Psychology and training in counselling, she is experienced in building inclusive and empowering cultures within early stage mission-driven tech startups.
Clare Tyler
Head of Compliance
Clare manages compliance and legal at Crowdfunder. With extensive experience in compliance and commercial law across industries like mining, healthcare, and tech startups, she’s been focused on the tech sector for the past 10 years.
Graeme Roy
Head of Crowdfunder Connect
Graeme has been with Crowdfunder since its inception. He leads the partner team, significantly contributing to key partnerships. His background in environmental sciences has seen him work for companies such as River Cottage and the Well Hung Meat Co.
Phil Geraghty
Founder & Director
Phil has vast experience in start-up and community crowdfunding in the UK after working with thousands of start-ups, social enterprises and charities to help them raise millions of pounds for their great ideas. He recently helped political parties crowdfund over a £1million for their General Election campaigns.
Alex Watts
Head of Customer Experience
After managing her own start-ups and social enterprise for several years, Alex joined Crowdfunder to empower communities to unlock their potential. She has over 20 years of experience in customer-facing roles and regularly volunteers for non-profits in her spare time.
Nikolai Clark

Nikolai leads our Engineering team, leveraging his extensive experience to shape the platform. Prior to his current role, he worked across various sectors, developing and designing a range of products from large-scale data analysis systems to award-winning business management software.
Jamie Dowding

Jamie is an experienced Web Developer with a demonstrated history of working in the renewables and environment industry. He's a strong engineering professional with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) focused in Multimedia, Production and Technology from University of Plymouth.

A serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience in the internet and telecoms industries, previously the co-founder and CEO of Crowdcube, he is now the founder and CEO of Disco, the social music discovery app.
